Sufyan Mahmood: Giving Back Through Sports and Compassion

Sufyan Mahmood, a national player from Oman and former Rupandehi Challengers star in the Dhangadi Premier League (DPL) 2018, recently extended his passion beyond cricket by supporting underprivileged children.

On April 12, 2018, at Punarbal Home, Sitapaila, Kathmandu, Nepal, Sufyan led a donation and social wellness program, “Food and Sports Materials Distribution to HIV-Infected Orphans,” benefiting 37 children.

The initiative included the distribution of essential groceries:

  • Rice (“Jira Masino”) – 4 packs, 25 kg each
  • Lentils (“Kalo Daal”) – 1 pack, 25 kg
  • Flour (“Aata”) – 2 packs, 5 kg each
  • Beans (“Raajma”) – 10 kg
  • Sugar – 10 kg

Lunch Boxes – 45 pcs including sandwiches, samosas, nimkin, barfi, and real juice

He also donated sports materials to encourage active and healthy lifestyles:

  • Cricket Bats – 4 pcs
  • Tennis Balls – 9 pcs
  • Badminton Rackets – 4 pairs
  • Badminton Cork – 1 bundle
  • Football – 1 pc
  • Ludo Sets – 3 pcs
  • Flying Plate – 1 pc
  • Skipping Rope – 1 pc

The total expenses for this noble initiative were approximately Rs. 25,000/-.

Sufyan’s efforts remind us how sports personalities can inspire communities, showing that giving back is as important as excelling on the field.
